Back Country Cafe in Killington

This place is off the chart good. I think a real chef came up with the menu. It's pricey.... but it's worth it...

Awesome portion sizes and unlimited coffee pours. Quaint interior with cool knickknacks. Unfortunately, we were told a 25 minute wait and it ended up taking a whole hour. Understand it's tough to seat eight people, but an accurate number would have changed our decision on where to eat.

Food awesome. Wonderful breakfast menu. Ambiance very nice. Our server was top notch, friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Was very excited to grab some breakfast here because the food is delicious. Ended up disappointed- contrary to all internet sources, the diner was closed. This isn’t the first time we’ve been duped by the hours. I really wish they were updated to reflect actual operations because closing hours seem arbitrary.

If you find yourself in Killington area, must go there for breakfast. They deserve all the applause for making the best maple French toast you’ll ever eat. Super friendly staff, very nice ambiance especially the “Retired Pan Hall of Fame”

Kids loved their pancakes, husband enjoyed his omelet. Bagels as french toast was a little weird but not horrible.

If you ignore the campy decor, you’ll enjoy the big portions and good food. Staff is super friendly and efficient post Covid-19. They were extremely conscientious about disinfecting and giving you onetime use condiments. Call ahead and let them know you’ll be eating in.We had “The Beast” which includes eggs, bacon, sausage, home fires, toast, and pancakes! The maple syrup is real and warm. Also had an egg white omelette with an over abundance of spinach, tomato and ham. All for a reasonable price. Enjoy a good hearty breakfast here!

They have our favorite hot sauce! Get it if your a hot sauce fan. All of the breakfast is absolutely delicious! The service is fantastic. It's a must stop!!!

Food was delicious! Would give 5 stars but the home fries did not have a lot of taste to them. The omelette was amazing! The staff were great, service was fast and great atmosphere! Would definitely eat here again.

Omelet ordered had ingredients not listed on menu..tomatoes, green onions..thought I got wrong dish at first. Would be an issue for people with food allergies. Omelet ok, homefries dry and tasteless, as was GF toast (even with butter). Popover special was awful. Popover tasted store bought (tasteless) and clumps of feta cheese were unappetizing. Lots of cheese seems to be the answer for lack of taste. Would not return!

This was Killington at it's finest. Independent, capable and challenging. The menu was the challenge because there were so many great choices. The service was warm and personal, no small task for a tourist destination. A must do before you take on The Beast.

Love this place so much!! We go up to Killington every other weekend for the past 5 years. Always go here for the waiter (he is amazing!) and the amazing food! I dream about their home fries with maple syrup, they are the best home fries I have ever had . Highly recommend for a feast for everyone.

Food was great, service even better. Dan was so personable with the right amount of sas and sweet. Our breakfast came out quick and hot, cooked to perfection. The mimosa was just the right champagne to oj ratio, coffee was awesome and the waitstaff were very attentive and chatted each time they dropped something off. Highly recommended, we will be back!

Food is always good and pretty quick so you can get out on the hill. Good specials and creative breakfast menu.

Great breakfast! We’ve been to several in the area and this is hands-down the best. Their scrambled eggs are just right, slightly liquidy and not overdone. Potatoes are crunchy not burnt. Corned beef hash...sooo very good. We’ll be rolling down the mountain.

Me and my family have visited Back Country Cafe almost everyday for our stay here in Vermont thus far and we're absolutely obsessed with this place. The food is amazing and service is always quick. They also happened to notice that we came back and that gave us such a nice home-y feeling. The waitresses and cooks always smile and the entire atmosphere of the restaurant is so cozy!

This diner was right next to the lodge we stayed at so we gave it a try. The staff were friendly and the food was out of this world. My friends enjoyed their food very much. I had a maple breakfast stout with this french toast style blueberry bread dish topped with a blueberry lemon cream cheese and it's one of the best diner specialties I've ever tasted. Can't wait to come back on my next visit to Killington!

Went there on a Sunday morning around 8AM. All team members are friendly and prepared well to serve. Fresh brewed VT local coffee. Ordered meals without bread. Nice price and proportion.

Great food and friendly service. The menu options not only cover your breakfast staples, but they also have some great dishes that combine fantastic flavors. There's a wait, but sometimes you can sneak into a counter space.

I have dreams about their lemon blueberry cheesecake french toast - I kid you not! They have wonderful service and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I especially wanted to publicly thank server Ashley. She gave A+ service and was super friendly. I hope to have her again the next time I come up for a visit!

Breakfast was amazing. The waffles with breakfast sausage inside were just what we needed for a day of skiing and hiking. Staff was friendly and attentive as well.

This is my favorite restaurant of all time!! They made French toast out of homemade banana bread and blueberry bread ... GENIUS. I am from Boston, back in VT this weekend again for skiing and I am DEFINITELY going out of my way to stop at back country cafe for breakfast on the way home 😎 also our waiter was amazing... forgot his name but if we have him again today I will update this post :) I left my purse in the restaurant and he chased me out the door to hand it to me...... saved me so much money and time

Went for a quick breakfast, kind of busy and only had one waitstaff on at the time. He was very attentive and didnt get flustered. Potatoes were over cooked and over seasoned but not bad. My grandmothers hash was not very good.

Home of the original Pigs in a Blanket! This may or may not be true, but it is up to you to find out. There is a hot sauce sampler that goes from Sweet Heat, to a 9-1-1, burn-your-face-off type of heat. Nice staff. Good coffee. Don't skip this place.
